Evangelistic Efforts in the Philippines
In the beautiful country of the Philippines, in the province of Samar, located in the Eastern Visayas region, is Calbayog City, also known as the city of waterfalls. Here you will find some of the most amazing waterfalls you would ever experience. Tinambacan is one of the districts within Calbayog City. It comprises of 27 sub-districts. The villagers have faithfully preserved their religion, culture and tradition as can be seen in their annual fiestas.
The HFT Ministries team embarked upon a mission to share the love of Jesus to the villagers of Tinambacan.
It was decided that a Bible worker will be sent out to visit the homes, study the Bible with the villagers, pray with them and encourage them in the way of the Lord.
So, in March 2022, Nick, an experienced Bible worker, volunteered to visit the homes. Each day he would meet with the people there and tell them about Jesus and His saving grace.
In a short time, the villagers developed a bond with Nick and grew to love him. They would always look forward to his visits and listen attentively as he opens the Bible and share God’s precious promises. They also enjoyed his singing as he praised God accompanied by his guitar.
Within a few weeks, a man and his wife, being convinced that the Lord was calling them to a new way of life, gave their hearts to Jesus and were baptized into His church.
Sometime after, six persons joined that couple in taking a stand on the side of Jesus. They were also baptized.
Evangelistic Meetings
Unfortunately, the Bible worker had to leave that area to continue his theological studies. But God had already started a good work there in Tinambacan and He was about to do greater things.
Another Bible worker by the name of Bong continued where Nick had left off. The villagers grew to love Bong too and soon he was considered as family.
Two months later, an evangelistic series was held in that area and the villagers were invited. The venue was an abandoned church, but it was filled with the Holy Spirit of God.
God worked powerfully through Pastor Mistades during that two-week evangelistic campaign as the villagers came out night after night.
Songs, testimonies and the spoken word erupted in that abandoned building each night as the people were led to Jesus their Saviour and their God.
At the end of the evangelistic series, about fifty persons gave their lives to Jesus. To God be the glory; great things He has done.
This mission was successful due to the generosity of individuals who made a commitment to Jesus to do all they can so that people will get to know Jesus and accept Him as their Saviour and Lord.
Today, those precious souls have a church building in which they can worship. They give all praise and thanks to God for rescuing them from the clutches of Satan and giving them new life in Jesus.
